I popped into my local Debenhams store Beauty counter with the purpose of purchasing my usual YSL Forever Youth Liberator Serum, only to be told that they had sold out, but would I be interested in taking a look at the YSL Forever Youth Liberator Concentrate for the face, neck and décolleté (the delicate area between your collar bones).

Looking at this product before me, trying to whey up whether to try something new or not, I followed my instincts, thinking that, it’s still the brand that I trust and it never fails to disappoint me.

The “Y-Shape” contains the Glycanactif Y-Complex, a BIG plus in my book, all an added bonus for me.

I had a little tester, applying it mainly to my neck and décolleté area, these are my problem zones, repeated sun damage over the years are the main cause, unfortunately.  I was hooked, this product smoothed them out a little with instant results.

Product Overview

Product:  Yves Saint Laurent Forever Youth Liberator Concentrate for Face, Neck and Décolleté.
Price:  £66 for 30 ml
Place That I Purchased From:  Debenhams Department Store.
My Rating: 10/10 and more.

The Testing Out of This Product

I have used it every day for a week, I did feel undecided about the texture to begin with, along with the pump spray applicator, but extremely impressed with the results.

The texture is very much in keeping with a Serum, much thicker though, keeping it more in line with a concentrate.

The applicator is brilliant, it only delivers a small amount, making sure that you do not use too much, well thought out indeed – very clever.

Upon the first application of “Y-Shape”, you could possibly think that it has a sticky feel, that could leave a residue on your face etc… but it doesn’t, it quickly dissipates to reveal a lovely, smooth, soft texture to your skin.

By day three I had noticed that my skin, particularly around my delicate eye area and cheeks, felt more refined.  The skin on my neck and décolleté had started to firm up.

It’s all looking good for me. to be revealing my results in one months time, as the description suggests 🙂

What YSL Have to Say

This is quoting from the Debenhams website within the YSL Forever Youth Leberator Y-Shape Concentrate section:

“The first firming concentrate by Yves Saint Laurent, containing the Glycanactif Y-complex, to act on the look of Y-shape i.e. face, neck and décolleté through a firming effect in just 7 days skin feels suppler and looks more luminous.  After 1 month facial skin feels firmer and denser while the neck and décolleté look visibly tighter, for a more defined Y-shape.  Apply morning and evening on face, neck and décolleté.”

Well, I whole heartedly agree with the 7 day effect.

I will write another review after 1 month to keep you all up to date.

In a Nut Shell

  • This product is a fantastic anti-aging product.
  • It will help in firming up the neck and delicate chest area.
  • We all need help after the age of 35 in toning everything up and especially with increasing sun damage.
  • This product is perfect for those of us in our Fifties.
  • The neck and décolleté are the first signs of aging no matter what we do to our faces.
  • I will most definitely be a regular purchaser of the “Y-Shape”, that’s for sure.

I hope that I have covered any thoughts or questions that you may have concerning this product, however, I would love to hear what you have to say.

  1. I’m not over 50 but I am currently looking for a gift for my mum and this sounds perfect. She has used a lot of anti-aging creams before but none have the results she wants. She hasn’t used YSL before and usually uses Loreal, what would you say the comparison between Loreal and YSL would be?

  2. Wow what a wonderful product! Finally something that actually works those problem areas without doing more damages. I am glad you got “hooked” and are sharing with the rest of us! Well written and to the point with out any additional “fluff”. Thank you for doing this review and helping us women save our time, energy, face and money!

  3. Interesting review on YSL…I’ve always used L”Oreal and ROC serum but after reading this, I just may give it a try to compare them. I wonder if you could tell us the active ingredients. Any Retinol in the product? If so, I’ll definitely
    convert.
I’ve bookmarked this page for future reference.

  4. Hi June
congratulations on using your foresight in providing a website that provides beauty enhancement products that meets specific needs of women of all ages. Now women can once again feel comfortable about who they are? and flaunt their beauty by just being who they really are meant to be.

    1. Hi James,

Lovely to hear from you James 🙂

I love to get the Male perspective, it’s refreshing to read, thank you.

I really do appreciate you drawing attention to a woman “being who they really are meant to be”, that is exactly the point that I want to get across via all my posts and reviews.

I think that it is incredibly important for all to feel confident in their Fifties, the fear of standing out can inhibit creative choices and the making of bold colour makeup purchases, the time to worry is when you don’t get noticed.

Thank you once more James, you are a true gentlemen, offering positive feed back for all to see.

      Enjoy your weekend.

  5. Hello June,
I am inspired by your website.Your target market is excellent. It is bright and elegant. Your website offers hope and positive change. Your words are clear and concise. People can relate to your story. Being a woman over 50, I learned from you about the importance of healthy skin and how over the years our skin needs replenishing and rejuvenation from environmental elements. Your website and your story is warm and caring. I am sold because I can relate. You touched me in your words and I grew a little.

    Thank you.

    1. Hi Deneen,

I feel highly motivated after reading your praise, wonderful comments and incredible feedback – THANK YOU :)))

There is no way that you could possibly be 50, well, just goes to show, that a positive outlook on life along with wanting to source out new and exciting products to keep your look fresh, is the thing to do.

You have inspired me more than you could possibly know, it gives me great comfort to know that my experience, honesty and passion have all helped to get my message across “Don’t Blend in, Stand Out at 50 and Over“.

It has been an absolute please to meet you and very much look forward to hearing from you again.

  6. I am in my 50s and have been looking for a product like this, to tone up my neck area. I love the fact that it will firm up both my neck and chest area, which has sun damage on it and I agree, that this is the first area to show aging, even over my face. I will definitely give this a shot. Thanks!

    1. Hi Amy,

Really do appreciate you taking the time to leave your positive thoughts and feedback regarding my “Y-Shape” review 🙂

If you are looking to tone up your neck, then this is the perfect product to use, you will see results immediately and the more you use the better over a period of about a month.

I know only too well about sun damage, I am a Beauty Therapist with a firm background in anatomy and physiology yet still have been caught out in hot climates with inevitable sunburn.

The neck does give away our age unfortunately, by using a good quality product though, it is possible to prevent further damage and tone up those areas in question.

I would suggest using a high quality sunscreen too or even sun block on any signs of damage, I most certainly do now.

I hope that you manage to make a purchase or get to try it out, please let me know how you get on.

Enjoy your week and thank you again.

  7. Thanks for putting up to this site, I am now in the middle of my 40’s and 50’s and my skin are started now of talking to me … I am No expert in any beauty regimen even into my 20’s or early 30’s I am so scared of using certain products into my face that i have No knowledge of what might be the effect of using it …with that said, I am now on the research finding a suitable product to my sensitive skin… I know we all getting into that same direction – but it would be just only nice if we can taking care our selves as long as we can still manage to take care of it … YSL is a very popular product and dont even try to look at it on the shelf Not until right now that I stumbled onto this site, the thing that has gotten me is, you model this through all by yourself – I can see there your sincerity of helping women, the Glycanactif Y-complex which it suggest to have a firming effect on the skin which I really would like to try this just even less to my face but I need it more into my Neck and Chest – I would like to know if YSL Glycanactif Y complex will help to reduce this chicken skin in my neck ? btw, is this gonna be available in Macy’s ? Im an Asian but base here in the U.S – just only assuming that this going to work for any skin type … thanks x

    1. Hi, it’s an absolute pleasure to read your wonderful comments and feedback – thank you 🙂

Firstly, I would like to apologise for my late reply, I have been catching up on family matters over the weekend.

I think that most tend to think more about a good skincare routine in their 40’s & 50’s, I have to say, looking at your profile photo, you do not look your age at all, I cannot see any evidence of a “chicken skin” either.

YSL Forever Youth Liberator Y-Shape will most definitely help to firm up your skin, especially those delicate areas, re neck & chest, the Glycanactif Y complex is the key ingredient, trust me, I saw results immediately, my neck looks & feels much smoother, my Husband has even commented, he doesn’t normally notice such things 😉

I’ve had a look at Macy’s on line, I couldn’t find this particular product or a YSL section, maybe in store might be your best option or take a look at Bloomingdales on line or try Debenhams UK, they deliver Internationally with great offers too from time to time, Amazon.com is worth looking at also.

Please let me know how you get on.

Great to connect with you and have a fab week.

  8. I shared this on my facebook page before I even started reading it because I believe looking good has no age limit.
The face is the first feature that is seen before anything else and judging from this review, I am pleased that this product is living up to its brand name YSL.

Though not in my 50s just yet, I still believe I stand a chance with this product because recently, I decided to have a strict skin regimen. I would be trying this Forever Youth Liberator out.

    Thanks for your review:)

    1. Hi Excelle,

I’m overwhelmed by your great comments, thank you and really lovely of you to share my post on social media 🙂

Please spread the word, the “Y-Shape” really does make a difference but above all, it WORKS!

You look a mere youngster, I have to say and very glam too, In my opinion, all ages should be using a good anti-aging product for good protection.

Please let me know how you get on after purchasing the “Y-shape”, I absolutely love this product, my skin looks noticeably much smoother and fine lines and wrinkles appear plumped out.

It is a pleasure to meet you and have a fab weekend.

  9. I’m so happy I came across this product review today as I’m sick of trying expensive skin care products only to find they don’t work as the marketing says they will. I’m familiar with YSL but where is Debenhams department store? I’ve not heard of it in the states. Can you recommend the best place to purchase this product at the best price?

    1. Hi Karen,

It’s great to hear from you and thank you so much for all your lovely comments, I really do appreciate them 🙂

I’m overwhelmed that a very glam lady from the States has looked and read my review.

I have had a look at pricing and shipping for you, Walmart has the ‘Y-Shape’ $167.94 for 30 ml but I’ve noticed that Debenhams have the same product for £59.40 ($75 approx.) for 30 ml with a £10 ($12 approx.) shipping fee to the US, it might be worth purchasing from the UK Debenhams Department Store, it is a large chain store over here.

I hope that I have helped you, if you are struggling to purchase the YSL Forever youth Liberator Y-Shape Concentrate then please do not hesitate to contact me again.

A pleasure to hear from you and have a great weekend.

      Regards

  10. I so want and need this product. As I have began to enter my 50s, I have learned how important it is to use a regimen like this. I didn’t see a link for these particular products? I am hoping that they are still sold out 🙁 Have you found since you began using them that you can see a difference in your skin? I know there is no miracle cream. I sure wish there was, but I also know that they do help. I look younger than my age, and would like that to continue 🙂

    1. Hi Matt’s Mom,

Lovely to hear from you again, a real pleasure 🙂

I have had a look at Debenhams department store on line and noticed that they have a promotion on right now, you can purchase the ‘Y-Shape’ for £59.40 for 30 ml, an amazing bargain, they ship internationally too.

I haven’t set up the link but I am looking into the possibilities now, watch this space 🙂

Let me know if you have managed to find Debenhams UK on line.

      Wishing you a fab weekend.
